2nds v Heriots. Goldenacre always a tough place to get a result, especially after the drop goal drama last week !! Scored an early try after continuous pressure from start. Mark Taylor finishing by turning his opponent inside out, after good lead up work . Heriots always love moving ball about and counter-attacked immediately, scoring good try in corner. Defence prob stood off a little creating the space. Hawks kept trying to play with tempo, chances spurned until Paddy Boyer exploited space round fringes to score under posts. Chippy O'Donnell conv made it 12-5 at H-T. If we had official stats(!) for 2nd half would prob make astonishing reading. Nails made it into Hawks half once, hardly touched the ball and only conceded one pen!!! Mike Martin kicked the points after 65mins. 3 players held up over line, one ball dropped over it, various other try chances going begging, made the score much closer than anyone could believe! But loads of positives balanced the lost scores- Heriots scrum pulverised to point of white flags being raised, Hawks rucking best for a long time, good link play thru' whole team and a team spirit which bodes well for next season. Final score 15-5
