It was a blustery cold afternoon on the big pitch at OA, our guys took the elements in the first half. Not even the presence of the Scottish TV Rugby crew warmed up the blazers on the far touchline!

Both packs showed that they were prepared to take the ball upfield with good driving mauls and for the first half hour or so not much between the sides. Davy Whyte was successful with 2 penalties however was unsuccessful with 3 more long range attempts in the period. Just ahead of half time we hit a clearance kick poorly, to be fielded by the opposition full back who fed their nippy winger who skelped past our defence for a well taken try, converted under the posts.6 - 8 at the break.

In the second half although the wind changed slightly Glens showed us a lesson or two using the blustery conditions to force us back into our half. The weather cried out for safe short passes however opposition pressure from the scrums led to ill timed long passes in attempts to release the backs. A penalty after 10 minutes brought us back to a lead at 9 - 8. Another penalty each and the score was 12 - 11 with final quarter of the game to go. Glens kicked another penalty 12 - 14. A poor restart allowed Glens to keep possession and move the ball out to their speedy winger to score from an overlap. Try converted,final score 12 - 21.

A hard afternoon in windly conditions, Glens deserved the victory due to positive play using the elements. The good news for the forwards is that the backs are creating line breaks often enough in the game to make a difference providing these chances are taken. Good performances from Disco, Shedden and the 2 centres. Our guys were not assisted by 3 forced changes to the team on Saturday morning.
