CHAIRMAN'S COLUMN

On behalf OF Glasgow Hawks I would like to welcome all supporters and
guests to Old Anniesland for today's Premier 1 League encounter with
Watsonians. A special welcome goes to Watsonians' President, Brian
Drinkwater, coach, Bruce Aitchison and their respective 'teams'.

Matches against Watsonians are both highly enjoyable and highly
competitive with matches usually being close affairs. Hopefully another
exciting match for the supporters is on the cards with Hawks pushing for
a fourth place in the league and Watsonians looking to move up the table
out of the 'drop zone'.

Our last match against Edinburgh Accies was a tense affair and was
satisfying that we played well in spells and that the youngsters who
came in for those on representative duty did very well indeed. The 2nd
XV despite a narrow 15-18 defeat against Accies bounced back last week
to record an excellent away win at Heriots and thus consolidate second
place in their league.

Behind the scenes work goes on to restructure the operational side of
the club so that we have more people taking on less tasks and that
everyone involved has a specific 'project' to work on. One of these
projects, a revamp of the Glasgow Hawks Supporters Club is in the final
stages of completion and more details of this will be released shortly.

Finally there are only a few places left for the Annual Dinner Dance on
May 15th. Chris Breckenridge and his team have done a tremendous job in
organising this fantastic event and if you would like to attend or
simply donate raffle or auction prizes then please get in touch with
Chris on 07976 564662

Enjoy today's game.

Allan Mackintosh
Chairman, Glasgow Hawks.
