Rugby v Magee Secondary.

Poor weather conditions and a very waterlogged park could not stop the High School tour
getting off to a successful start on Friday. The game was refereed by Gareth Rees, the Canadian
rugby star, who has played in four World Cups. Tries were scored by Rory Taylor(2), Calum
Clayton(2), Hamish Livingston, Murray Cubie and Sam Greenock, who also added 3 conversions in
difficult conditions. David Forrest also put in an excellent performance around the park. This
resulted in a 41-0 victory to start the tour. The whole tour squad was then well looked after
in the Meralomas Club House.

Hockey v North West Vancouver Select.

The girls also had a successful start to their playing side of the tour with a 1-0 victory on
Friday night. Christina Clark scored the vital goal in a game where we were under a lot of
pressure. Juliet Gordon was very impressive in defence and her speed off the line at short
corners was crucial.

However, they were not allowed to rest on their laurels and had to be back on the pitch at 9
o'clock the next morning against the same opposition. The weather was far more pleasant and
the game very open and even. Kirsty Howe scored the opener before a few lapses in defence
allowed the Canadians to take a 2-1 lead. However with just under 10 minutes left Kirsty Howe
stepped up to score the equaliser. The game ended 2-2.
