Glasgow Rugby Friends Reunited – Party Night on 19th June 2010.
This is a major opportunity to catch up with all the people associated with rugby in the west of Scotland over the past 40 years or so and to do a bit for a worthwhile charity at the same time.
1,000 of us will be at the Old Fruitmarket on that night and we wanted to make sure your club members and supporters have the chance to be there. The event will be co-hosted by the BBC’s Rhona McLeod and John Beattie, with Big John’s band along with 2 others providing the live music (if you haven’t heard them, they are really pretty good.) There’s a nostalgic disco which will help recreate the atmosphere and friendship we all enjoyed at the rugby club discos of old. (maybe this time you will get lucky? Well there is a raffle!)
We are delighted that Harper Macleod LLP, Odgers Berndston, and Argyle Consulting are sponsoring the event and helping make this a really memorable event.
There will be a bit of fun on the night with some special awards and a chance to mix with existing Glasgow Pro players as well as some of the characters from the past.
Rugby brings immense pleasure and a sense of community to millions of people. But, occasionally, it brings tragedy instead – like many other sports. Though it happens very rarely, injuries can be serious and life-changing. Hearts and Balls aims to ensure that, in times of need, those connected with rugby are supported by the wider rugby community.
We think it will be a fun night and would ask that you display the enclosed posters and leaflets as well as ordering tickets through the website www.heartsandballs.org,uk
