Glasgow skipper Alastair Kellock is confident teenage fly-half Duncan Weir can play his part in Friday night’s Magners League finale at Scarlets.
Duncan came off the bench for Dan Parks with 10 minutes left of Glasgow’s play-off clinching victory over Leinster.
With Ruaridh Jackson still out with ankle damage, Duncan will once again almost certainly be on the bench as back-up to Dan Parks.
Al said in the Evening Times: “I thought Duncan did well off the bench against Leinster.
“For a young guy to come on in such an important game and play with the confidence he did was impressive.
“He made a couple of excellent passes as well as getting stuck in at the breakdown, and I have no worries about the contribution he will make if called upon on Friday.”
Warriors coach Sean Lineen said he is pleased fixture uncertainty has been resolved and Ospreys will play the Dragons at the same time as Glasgow take on Scarlets. A Glasgow victory and a possible bonus point could take second place from Ospreys and secure home advantage for the play-off semis.
He said: “It is good both games are on at the same time. I don’t think there is much doubt it would have been an advantage if Ospreys were going into their game knowing what they had to do.
“We are under no illusions as to how hard it will be to get the win at Scarlets, never mind a bonus point.
“What matters is that we keep our momentum going and with three wins on the bounce we are in good shape with confidence high.”
