HAWICK YM forward Martin Punter has been banned from playing rugby for seven weeks.
The suspension was handed down at a meeting of Scottish Rugby's discipline panel after the popular prop was sent off in a league match last month against Glasgow Accies.
Punter was shown a red card for punching, contrary to Law 10.4 (a), six minutes from the end of the Redskins' National League Division Two match at Mansfield Haugh on April 17.
It was his fifth appearance before the discipline panel since 2006.
The panel suspended Punter up to and including Sunday, September 5, 2010.
