THE MIGHTY 2S MATCH REPORT FROM BRIDGEHAUGH

The Mighty 2's 29 - 3 Stirling County 2's

A glorious spring day beneath the majestic Wallace monument at Bridgehaugh saw the young Hawks guns take another step towards retaining the Second XV title.

Luckily for the team, Ken 'neolithic' Hamilton was again in attendance to babysit the pack who contained 6 school leavers and the now veteran Murray Stewart! Early dominance saw 'ronaldo' Little squeeze in at the corner following a quick tap penalty taken on by the pack. James 'giraffe' Small was on hand to finish off some fine continuity play from the team and stretch the lead to 12 points. A fine try by Kenny Baille following a blindside move from scrummage, saw the ageing fullback collect 'ronaldo's' kick on the full and crash over to take the Halftime score to 19-3.

The second half was a scrappy affair with the Hawks adding two further tries from Danny Hoffman and a second for James Small who beat his man and ran round the fullback from halfway!

A fine result for the team who now only have Hawick in the way to crown another impressive season!
