More Amsterdam revelations

Our team of intrepid investigative journalists who report without fear or favour a team that would do our great British tabloids proud have been showing an interest in last weekend's Amsterdam Sevens
Although there was a rival event at Twickers the main action seemed to have happened elsewhere
We have already revealed Harko's triumph in the main show but that was not the only story worth telling

A tale of Anniesland connections unfolded
It was not quite the 7s that young Harkness graced, but the Veterans 10's, saw an evergreen Cammy Little playing for the Silverbacks - an Edin Accies offshoot which was celebrating the 40th birthday of one Roderick Dunlop - former GHK tourist and son of a European Rugby Commissioner

They lost to Richmond Heavies in the final of the "Boot", having joined forces with Millbrae to see out the last game after heavy casualties took their toll!! The final saw a late consolation try by Little truly converted from wide out with his (alleged) last kick of a rugby ball by Glasgow and Ayr Legend Phil Manning - brother of Peter - ex-GHK star in the 90s....

The final of the Vets was won by the Marauders, who included in their ranks the former Burnbrae hero Shane McIntosh, formerly of Glasgow and West of Scotland, and beat in the final the Pacific Chiefs who, as well as Henry Paul and Trevor Leota, included ex GHK legend and brother of Tana, Mike Umaga who rubbed shoulders with a young Nick Cox at Coventry!!! Incidently on the way to the final the Marauders saw off a Wooden Spoon team aided by another Hawks old boy, Steve Begley
