Waikato Development team face another tough weekend on the road when they travel to Christchurch to play Canterbury Development in the Ranfurly Shield curtain-raiser tonight.
Both teams go into round six of the NPC B competition with two wins from five matches, but the southerners have two more bonus points than Waikato.
Waikato, after their disappointing 24-0 loss to Auckland last weekend, now sit ninth on the points table. Canterbury are five points out of the top four in fifth place following their 40-13 win over Northland.
Waikato coach Andrew Douglas knows competition points are vital at this stage of the season if Waikato want to put some respectability back into their campaign with just four rounds remaining.
The Waikato backline has been rejigged with Solo Korovata coming on to the wing, Malcolm Barnes at halfback and Moks Irwin returning to the other wing.
In the forwards Steven Setephano comes from the NPC reserves to start at No 8, Kent Fife moves to the side of the scrum and Marc Morunga comes from the NPC bench to start at lock.
There are also changes in the front row with Craig West coming in for Ted Tauroa, while Glen Hawea will start at hooker.
