EUROPEAN GIANTS BOUND FOR FIRHILL
Tuesday, 08 June 2010
Glasgow have been paired against two former winners of European rugby’s premier elite club competition and their perennial rivals, in the draw for the 2010-11 Heineken Cup which took place in Cardiff this morning.
Reigning champions Toulouse, London Wasps and, once again, Newport Gwent Dragons, will be the Warriors’ opponents in Pool 6.
This afternoon Warriors' captain Alastair Kellock gave his reaction to the draw from Scotland's training camp in Argentina.
Captain Al Kellock welcomed the draw
Kellock told www.glasgowwarriors.org: "We want to be testing ourselves against the best and in the group we've got we can definitely do that.
"We are under no illusions that Toulouse will be massive favourites from our group. They are the current champions and best team in Europe and playing at their ground is a fantastic experience.
"But 2009, when we won at Toulouse, was a real high point over the last few seasons and everybody is really excited about the opportunity to go back there and also face Toulouse at Firhill.
"Wasps are another of Europe's real big clubs. They are huge in European terms and that's the sort of team that you want to compete against.
"We know the Dragons really well. Both teams will be happy to see each other again," Kellock said, with a twinkle in his eye.
