SCOTTISH Rugby's annual general meeting takes place at Murrayfield tomorrow with one former British and Irish Lion admitting he faces some soul searching in preparing to take up an establishment post.
Things may never be the same again for Peter Wright who, from playing days at Boroughmuir through to his present position as director of rugby at Glasgow Hawks, has gained renown for straight talking.

"I have to sign a confidentiality agreement on joining the Scottish Rugby Council as representative of the Premier Division One clubs whose interests I am bound to represent," said Wright, who, typically, cannot fail in adopting the type of questioning attitude that has made him a huge favourite as rugby summariser for BBC radio Scotland.

"So, one of the first things I have to do is learn what is confidential and what I can pass on to my constituent clubs.

"Always I have tried to recognise that debate is of paramount importance in sport. As long as debate is sensible and it ultimately makes rugby better then I'm all for it."

Hinting that he might learn to have to hold his tongue on occasions, Wright, says: "All I will be trying to do is make a small contribution and hopefully the whole game will benefit from Scotland's recent series win in Argentina because the effects will cascade down."
