The summer must be nearly over as I am writing about the first GROGS Meeting of the new season.
This will take place at Braidholm on Wednesday 8th September when former Scotland and British Lions star and now President of the SRU, Ian McLaughlin will be the guest speaker.
The meeting will start as usual at 12 noon for 12-30.
Would you please let me know if you plan to attend. We have new Caterers and they may need to have more specific numbers than we provided in the past.
For the last 7 years we have held the price at £10 but costs have caught up on us and sadly we have to charge £12. It would be helpful to Murray Kerr if you could bring the exact cash.
I believe that we have a great programme arranged for the first part of the year.
In October Peter Wright the Director of Rugby at the Hawks is returning.
In November Bill Barnaby Secretary of Kilmarnock RFC and well known after dinner speaker will entertain us.
In December we normally have an in-house speaker and this year it is Stuart Wallace.
The New Year programme is being finalised and more information later.
Last year we averaged 96 attendees at our meetings, fairly close to capacity. We can cope with a few more but if you intend to bring a guest please let me know.
