ACCIES UPDATE FROM ALLY G

Good Afternoon everyone,
We are in the middle of the wedding season with last years captain Jamie Doig getting married this weekend and a number of players attending this and another wedding leaves us with insufficient backs to raise a viable side. We have plenty of forwards which goes to prove that backs get married in the rugby season and forwards in the off season or so it seems.
By next week it should be back to normal as players return from their summer activities. Flanker Chris Wright returned to training last night and our man from the Royal Navy, submariner and speedy winger Alan Bodell also trained.
After the fine performance last week against West of Scotland confidence and anticipation are high and I encourage you to come out and see the first league match a week on Saturday when we take on Newton Stewart at New Anniesland kick off 3pm.
You need not go without your rugby fix this weekend as Hawks play West of Scotland at Old Anniesland at 3pm. This should be a cracker well worth watching and giving support to our associate club. They are offering lunch and match ticket for £20 which seems good value to me. Check the Hawks website for details.
We are all looking forward to seeing you again at the start of the league campaign
Kind regards
Alasdair Graham
