GHA - v - Glasgow Hawks

Under 15s travelled to Braidholm today to face GHA with a seriously depleted
squad - only 16 available players, due to injuries and holiday weekend.

The lack of players resulted in a major shuffling of the team, especially
as we had no locks.This meant a prop and back row playing in the second row.

Despite our handicaps we again scored 4 tries playing away from home, but
could not prevent GHA running out 41 - 22 winners.

GHA were able to freshen their team in the course of the second half, a luxury
we did not have. Hawks ended the game with at least three "walking wounded"
with one of the boys playing the final 15 minutes with a wrist injury which
resulted in a hospital visit.

The last ten minutes saw Hawks forwards take control with a series of pick-up
and drives from Kerr Gossman, Jamie Murphy and captain, Kris MacDonald,
that knocked GHA back time after time. Unfortunately the scoreline was beyond
us by this stage, but we must take encouragement from those last ten minutes
and convert that performance into sixty minutes.

Next Sunday, like the S2s, we welcome our old adversaries from "Doon the
Watter" - Greenock in what should be an exciting league clash - kick off
2pm.
