GHK News - The View from the First Man Over the Top

A Stampede in Aviation

“I'm really enjoying this, ... Could this be a weekly series?

Jerry Seinfeld (b.1954-) Stand-up comedian, actor and writer

Men. Enough is enough. We must consider the period just passed as the first stage of our regiment’s reestablishment, and prepare ourselves to finish worthily the marvelous design of the elect of ten generations.

Yes, to a man, we owe an undertaking, which could in time merit the applause of the entire firmament. Annnieslanders love a winner. Annnieslanders will not tolerate a loser. Annnieslanders despise cowards. Annnieslanders play to win all of the time. The regiment is a team. It lives, sleeps, eats, and flies as a team. Tomorrow you shall travel but new means but this shall not be allowed to serve as a distraction. Flight is merely a means to an end. A winning end. Last week, you have overthrown and you will taste such moments again because you are prepared for the tactics that decide the fate of our on-field battles. You are worthy of the men who enter the bowl of our nation stadium, and who contended not in vain with the gladiatorial legions. With your brother in our great game, Rugby Union, I call you all to arms. All of you. Our facing oppressors and the seemingly robust shall disappear like the mackerel sky. Our leaders and former coaches, all Men of strong character deserved of the accolades, have winnowed out the weak from our embrace. Let the lily-livered that have departed from among us to carry their servility and their gloomy fears to the other side of the river.

Receive then, my stouthearted young volunteers, at the honored conclusion of three battles, one word of farewell from me. I press this word with deep-rooted affection and from the very bottom of my navy and green stockings. Today I am obliged to stand down, but for a day only. The eighty minutes of gunfire will find me with you again, by the side of the ones who hold my admiration. Your return shall be marked with the deserved credit of all at Old Anniesland. There shall be no need to furrow your youthful brows as you walk through the doors of the Jim Donald Bar but rather wear broadly you beaming simper. This is the start of our march in earnest together to the second flight of the season that will see us go where only Christopher Columbus embarked with such fervent gallus.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Adjutant General Shambilton will be at the head of the Twin Otter reliant on the 2 Pratt & Whitney but The Prince has an elongated collarbone and will be serving a selection of nuts and smokeless cigarettes.
