WARRIORS HOPE TO EXTEND WINNING START TO HEINEKEN CUP

Head coach Sean Lineen speaks exclusively to glasgowwarriors.org
Glasgow Warriors head coach, Sean Lineen, is revving his squad up for another winning Heineken Cup weekend as he seeks to extend the Warriors’ successful start to the competition.
The Warriors beat Newport Gwent Dragons 21-13 at Firhill last Friday night, denying the visitors a losing bonus point, and now he is identifying this weekend’s encounter with London Wasps (at Adams Park on Sunday 17 October, kick-off 1pm) as an opportunity to create another chapter in the club’s history.
“We need to look at this game and go ‘What an opportunity’,” he said.
“This is the first time for so long that Glasgow have won their first-up Heineken game, so for us, this represents something special, maybe we can make a bit of history.”
However, despite the optimism and enthusiasm that oozes from the former Scotland centre, Lineen knows that the task that lies ahead is far from easy.
“Going down there is going to be incredibly difficult. Wasps are a quality team with a lot of pedigree behind them in the Heineken Cup. They have quality individuals with a lot of belief and are a very physical team.”
