Matt Williams Appointed as New Pirates Coach



West Harbour Rugby Club(where Gavin Mories is currently playing) announced today that former , Irish A, Leinster and Waratah’s coach Matt Williams has been appointed as the Club’s new Director of Rugby and First Grade coach for the next two seasons.

Williams recently returned to Sydney with his family to live and brings to the club vast international coaching experience at a professional level. Matt will take overall responsibility for coaching and development roles for the club.


President Lloyd Mills said,” Matt has been a professional coach for the last 10 years and has a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts. His experience and contacts will be invaluable in the development and recruitment of players.

Williams said, “I am excited by my return to my old club. West Harbour has a very good base of talented players, a good first grade squad and an excellent organization.
