Premier 1 roundup

With just one week to go before Premier Divisions 1 and 2 split into three groups of eight to decide championships, promotion and relegation, 2008/09 champions Ayr remain at the top of Division 1 after their 43-19 bonus point win over Stirling County.
For Stirling it means they are now down in the bottom four once more, with a home game against Melrose to come next Saturday.
Melrose maintained their grip on second place, three points behind Ayr following their seven-try romp against a spirited Watsonians.
The latter had belied their placing at the foot of the table to level it 19 - all at the Greenyards before finally succumbing to their Borders hosts, going down 45 - 19.
Selkirk remain just one point above Watsonians in the bottom four - their position unaltered from last week after suffering one of the worst defeats when Glasgow Hawks ran in 14 tries to steamroller the Borders side into a 92-0 thumping.
Hawks retain their third place, but remarkably were not unique in scoring 92 points. At Mayfield, Dundee High School FP ran in 13 tries to equal that total in defeating West of Scotland - although the Burnbrae men did notch one for themselves in losing 92-7.
Hawick hoisted themselves above the bottom four by springing a surprise on defending champions Currie, whose revival was halted by an 11-9 win by the Greens on their own patch at Mansfield Park.
Hawick have to meet Selkirk at Philiphaugh, needing a win to secure their place in the top eight.
Finally, previous championsHeriots and Boroughmuir remain in mid-table safety, the Goldenacre man leapfrogging their Currie guests by taking a bonus point win 24-20 - despite the Malleny Park men securing a losing bonus point themselves.
