IT WAS slaughter in the sun at Old Anniesland as Glasgow Hawks ran up a club record premiership score, against a side already consigned to fight for survival after the split.
Their previous top score came when they wrapped up the championship with an 80-19 win at Hawick in 2005.
Selkirk had no answer to the pace power and precision that ran right through the home side. Hawks' confidence was in evidence from their first penalty was tapped on their ten metres line, possession moved right at pace and the ended with Joffy White bagging the first score in just three minutes. Four minutes later Dean Kellock intercepted and swift hands sent White in for his second try. In 14 minutes left wing Kerr Gossman showcased his devastating side step and was in under the bar.
Five minutes later when scrum half Kris Hamilton was nabbed the home recycling machine was to the fore and full-back Craig Gossman was dotting down the bonus point try before the first quarter was over.
Four further tries made for a half-time lead of 54-0. The pick was Craig Gossman's second from a daringly taken quick throw-in by Commonwealth Games sevens player Mike Adamson.
It took 30 minutes of the second half to produce four more with Adamson's place kicking also falling away. Finally two more arrived in the last five minutes with Craig Gossman closing proceedings with the 14th to match the hat-trick of White.
