Yesterday at Meggetland was one of those days when I had the pleasure of meeting a former Boroughmuir flyer Norrie Patterson
Norrie apart from his rugby prowess was no mean athlete in fact he was runner up in the British Junior 220 Hurdles Championship to another Edinburgh legend Frank Dick a product of Royal High who went on to be Director of UK Athletics and fitness adviser to the SRU
When Frank pipped Norrie for the British title Norrie was so disappointed that he threw his silver medal away
