Glasgow Warriors experienced major travel difficulties yesterday as a result of adverse weather conditions in London, particularly at Heathrow Airport.
In spite of the ten hour delay, the whole squad arrived safe in Toulouse in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 18 December). Unfortunately, all team luggage and essential medical and playing equipment did not arrive with the team. The Warriors are currently liaising with their travel partner and British Airways in order to locate the baggage and have it dispatched to the team in Toulouse as soon as possible.
Due to the team luggage containing essential medial supplies, this afternoon’s Heineken Cup Pool 6 match against Toulouse at the Stade Ernest Wallon has been postponed by tournament organisers ERC (European Rugby Cup) until 2pm local time tomorrow. Glasgow Warriors respect ERC’s decision.
Toulouse have been very hospitable and today lent the Glasgow some training apparel in order for the Warriors to undertake a light training session.
Glasgow Warriors remain in regular dialogue with ERC with regard to the ongoing situation.
