Good afternoon everyone,
On behalf of the Committee of GROGS I wish you and your family a most happy and enjoyable Christmas and a healthy, prosperous and successful New Year.
We certainly ended the first half of the GROGS season on a high. Despite the weather 66 should with a 'can do' attitude enjoyed a marvellous GROGS meeting on 8th December when Stuart Wallace gave an outstanding and highly entertaining speech. There was a great atmosphere in the Clubhouse as I think everyone was just pleased to be there having been cooped up in the house for a few days.
A huge thank you has to go to the staff at Braidholm who turned out over two days to produce and serve an excellent Christmas lunch, it really was a great effort all round.
I am also writing to advise you of the arrangements for the January meeting as it falls closely after the New Year on Wednesday 12th January. Usual time and place 12 noon for 12-30 at Braidholm
It will be an all High School affair as Dave Kerr is the speaker and Johnstone Sime is in the chair. Despite their background I am sure it will be a great affair and hopefully we will get a large turnout. Please let me know if you are planning to attend or not.
Incidentally despite the reduced numbers at the December meeting we still raised £330 for charity. With any luck we should have about £1500 to distribute at the end os the season. If anyone who missed the December meeting wishes to add to the charity collection please bring it to the January meeting. The suggest amount is £5.
Many thanks for your donations to the raffle as they helped it to go with a swing.
I am looking forward to meeting you again after the festive season is over.
Alasdair Graham
