Hawks welcome two grand old clubs

This Saturday in the Scottish Cup sees Hawks face Edinburgh Accies one of the "great old clubs" of Rugby formed in 1857
Any club that has Played for over 150 years deserves respect but the contribution this particular club has made to the evolution of the rugby code in Scotland is immense and Raeburn Place richly deserves the title "cradle of Scottish Rugby"
Amongst many achievements is the little known one when they combined with the bold Glasgow Accies in 1882 to tour England
Having beaten that powerhouse of English Rugby Manchester and Oxford University the English press suggested that they should now play England
Unfortunately the Scottish Union did not share that enthusiasm and would not sanction the match
K.O. 3.00 p.m.

The Hawks 2s welcome Watsonians 2s in a Reserve League match which could be a lung bursting affair if the performance of one of the 2nd xv coaches at Tuesday training is anything to go by
However it is unlikely to be as lung bursting as the performance of one Watsonian John Ranken by name who traversed these very pitches in 1905 as he headed to the country cross roads at Anniesland on his way to winning the Scottish Cross Country Championship which started and finished at Scotstoun Showgrounds now the training base for the Warriors
K.O in. 1.30 p.m.
