REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES CONFIRMED

Scottish Rugby is pleased to confirm the dates and venues for a host of exciting representative fixtures to be played in the coming months.
The schedule details commitments for the Scotland under-20, Club International, under-18, under-17 and women’s teams and covers the period between now and June.
The action confirmed today kicks off on Friday 4 February, when the under-20 team, led by head coach Peter Wright, travel to Caen in Normandy to face France in their first 6 Nations fixture.
That same night, the Club International team, coached by Currie’s Ally Donaldson, take on their French counterparts in Orleans, while Scotland Women kick off their 6 Nations campaign in Viry-Châtillon near Paris.
The following weekend, Scottish fans will get the chance to see their sides in action a little closer to home, when both the under-20s and the women play host to Wales. The under-20s match will take place at Bridgehaugh, Stirling on Friday 11 February (kick-off 7.30pm), with the women’s match being staged at Burnbrae, Glasgow on Sunday 13 February (kick-off 2pm).
Admission to those games, and all other home Scotland A, under-20, Club International, under-18, under-17 and women’s matches this season, will be FREE.
Supporters across the country will have an opportunity to see their favourites in the flesh. Scotland under-20 will host Ireland on Friday 25 February, the venue to be formally confirmed in the next few days, before returning to Bridgehaugh for a match against Italy on Friday 18 March (kick-off 7.30pm).
The Club International team, meanwhile, will square up to Ireland at Netherdale on Friday 11 March (kick-off 7.30pm), with the Galashiels ground already set to host the Scotland A fixtures against Irish Wolfhounds on Friday 28 January (kick-off 7.30pm) and Italy A (Friday 4 February, kick-off 7.30pm).
Scotland Women’s other 6 Nations home games see them tackle Ireland at Lasswade on Saturday 26 February (kick-off 2pm) and Italy at Meggetland on Sunday 20 March (kick-off 2pm).
Scotland under-18 will play Japan Schools at Braidholm, home of GHA, that same day (kick-off 2pm) as preparation for their FIRA/AER European Championship qualifying matches against England (Headingley, Leeds, Sunday 27 March, kick-off 1.30pm) and Ireland (Braidholm, Sunday 3 April, kick-off 12pm).
The European Championships themselves take place in Tarbes, France from 13-24 April, with the under-18s playing a further warm-up match against Wales at Swansea on Sunday 10 April.
Scotland under-17s play England at West Park, Leeds, that afternoon (kick-off 1pm), before taking part in the Wellington Festival from 16-24 April. They then face France at Philiphaugh, Selkirk on Sunday 1 May (kick-off 2pm).
Graham Lowe, Scottish Rugby’s director of performance rugby, said: “It’s going to be a really exciting few months for our representative teams, with fantastic matches taking place up and down the country.
“Given that all these home games will have free admission, there’s a great opportunity for fans across the land to get involved and support their country. I’d like to wish all the teams every success for their matches and look forward to seeing them in action.”
