Good evening all,
This evening Accies had their first full contact training session since mid November. The side pitch at New Anniesland had thawed to a depth of about 3" and provided a good surface in balmy conditions, it was 8.5C at 8pm.
It seems certain that the game against Caithness on Saturday will be played. Please note that the kick off is at 1pm. This is to make it easier for them to get back home at a reasonable. They do the same for us when we travel to Thurso.
The good news is that Accies are able to field a strong back division. Brad Bell has returned to the USA but Jamie Doig is back from work commitments and Tom Cullen, the speedy and powerful left winger has returned from a troublesome foot injury. Craig Wright moves back to full back to replace Brad Bell.
Many Clubs in Scotland will be hit by University exams this weekend but Accies have got off lightly as Adam Taylor is the only 1st XV player affected. There are a few more in the 2nd XV ranks. The end of the financial year has an effect on the Accountants and Fabio Marchetti is affected.
Chris McAlpine comes in at tight head. Graeme Simpson moves into the second row from No8 thus giving a starting berth to Kenneth Beattie. The rest of the back row should have some pace with two open side wing forwards Chris Wright and andy Jackson in tandem.
The full Accies side is on the attachment.
For supporters coming to the game please note that soup and sandwiches will be available from 12-15.
