£1 million in used notes

The Scottish Sun reports

RUGBY legend Bill McLaren's family yesterday marked the first anniversary of his death - by donating his priceless commentary notes to the sports charity named after him.
More than 600 of the Scot's handwritten big-match preparation charts - which could be worth over £1million in auction - were handed over.
Bill McLaren Foundation spokesman John Thorburn said: "These archives span a half century of broadcasting by the Voice of Rugby.
"Bill religiously filed documents for each match he covered."
McLaren thrilled generations of fans after starting out on BBC radio in 1953. His daughter Linda Lawson, 58 - who spent nine months cataloguing the charts - said: "Many contain up to 1,000 pieces of information about teams, players and officials."
Foundation co-founder Brian Renwick said: "We can reproduce copies to generate funds to provide sporting opportunities for youngsters."

McLaren died last January aged 86, leaving his £240,000 estate to Linda and wife Bette.
Thousands lined the streets of home town Hawick, Roxburghshire, for his funeral.
