BIGGAR 20 GLASGOW HAWKS 30
CHAMPIONS Hawks had to battle all the way before taking maximum points from a gutsy Biggar performance at Hartreemill. Hawks had the game won by half time, scoring four tries and picking up the bonus point in the first 40 minutes. But Biggar dug in after the re-start and they seemed to have claimed a losing bonus point only for Mike Adamson's seventh minute of injury time penalty denying them.
Hawks made the best possible start when Ian Kennedy crossed in the opening minute. A second try from Richard McKnight put the visitors in control before Chas Slade pulled a try back in 25 minutes. However, Matt Smith and Sandy Warnock scored tries to give Hawks a 22-13 half-time lead.
Steven Duffy's try in 76 minutes was cancelled out with Mike Erskine's late try. However, Adamson's final kick of the game ended any hope Biggar had of any points.
