The Scotsman reports
SCOTLAND'S Max Evans will visit his adopted home town for the first time today, as the utility back flies to France to undergo a medical at his new club Castres.
Evans, taking a break from preparations for the Calcutta Cup showdown with England a week on Sunday, was snapped up by ambitious Castres when he failed to clinch a fresh contract with Glasgow.
He declared: "I have already signed the preliminary forms with them and now I just have to have my fitness and all the other medical things checked out.
"I have never actually been to Castres, but I have driven around it a few times on Google Street View on my laptop! It all looks fantastic and I am really excited about seeing it properly in real life.
"I do know it is near Toulouse, where, of course, I have been with the Warriors and I was also in the area for a pre-season tournament with them, so I am aware that that whole region of France has some amazing scenery."
Meanwhile, Evans believes the narrow defeat by Ireland at the weekend has wiped away the memories of the horror show against Wales two weeks earlier.
And he insisted the Scots can now travel to Twickenham with renewed hope. He said: "What we did at the weekend as definitely something to be proud of in comparison to the Welsh experience. The guys showed so much heart and there were a lot of pleasing points - plenty to focus on in the build up to facing England
