Hawks play catch-up with Hawick at last after call-off

GLASGOW Hawks go into tonight's rearranged match with Hawick determined to gain a five-point win to keep up their hopes of a top-three Premier One finish and a British & Irish Cup place for next term.
The two clubs meet at Old Anniesland at 7.30pm, ten days after the match was supposed to take place only for the Borderers to pull out controversially, citing a lack of available front-row.

Subsequently Hawick were reprimanded by Scottish Rugby for the call-off and Glasgow Hawks coach Peter Wright is looking forward to getting the match played.

He said: "What happened last time was frustrating, but we have to get on with it.

"Hawick will come here hurting after some of the comments that have been flying about and we have to make sure we are at the top of our game. The guys are up for it and a five-point win is what we need ideally."

The hosts will be missing club international hooker Eric Milligan who has a rib injury, while winger Kerr Gossman will look to continue where he left off on Saturday when he scored five tries at the Melrose Sevens. Stand-off Mike Adamson also starts having recovered from a knock sustained in the sevens event.

For Hawick, captain Bruce McNeil's back injury has improved sufficiently for him to be involved, while teenager Stuart Hogg has been released by Glasgow Warriors as he continues his return to full fitness
