THE highlight of the mini rugby season in Central Scotland will take place on Sunday, April 24 in Fintry with the fifth annual Strathendrick RFC Mini Rugby Charity Festival.
Although it is Easter Sunday, more than 450 children will participate from 12 clubs to raise money for three local hospices.
Teams from Allan Glens, GHA, Glasgow Accies, GHK, Lenzie, West of Scotland, Falkirk, Helensburgh, Hillfoots, Cambuslang, East Kilbride and of course Strathendrick's own minis teams, will all come together in Scotland's largest mini rugby charity rugby festival.
Pro-players from Glasgow Warriors and SRU President Ian “Mighty Mouse” MacLachlan will also attend to give the children support and encouragement.

Being held at Strathendrick’s Ruth Menzies Field ground in Fintry, the festival promises not just to be a great afternoon of holiday rugby for the children but entertaining and exciting for the supporting families too.
It is expected that more significant funds will be raised for the three well-established and local hospices – Strathcarron Hospice in Denny, Robin House in Balloch and The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.
These were chosen as three prominent Scottish charities serving the communities where the teams are coming from, and this year's proceeds will take the total raised by the festival to more than £20,000.
