At the end of a great weekend Hawks lost their final 2 matches ,but could not be faulted for their efforts.We went into the final match with only 16 fit players and had to play a centre and a prop in the back row.However the boys effort against a very physical Sandal team was tremendous and they finished with their heads held high.
The whole tournament was played in glorious sunny conditions but the pitch was rock hard.This was the cause of most of our injuries,we lost five players in the first match on Saturday against Bishops Stortford. To lose so many key players caused us problems,but in every game we picked up injuries due to the ground.
Despite this the effort the boys put into every game was great. Their behaviour on and off the pitch was a credit to the club.They should all be proud of themselves.
