Hawks had too much guile for County and first-half tries from Kerr Gossman, Rory Hamilton and Ross Miller gave them a handy 21-7 interval lead - Adam Sinclair touching down for County. Quick fire scores from Miller and Kris Hamilton ensured the trophy was Anniesland bound before skipper Grant Strang bagged try number six and Adrian Smith added gloss to the scoreline before Ross Aitken bagged a late consolation for County.
Hawks were untroubled in disposing of Edinburgh University in a one-sided semi-final, with the students having no answer to the all round pace in the Hawks side, the Gossman brothers, Kerr and Craig in particular wreaking havoc on the way to a 66-0 win.
County showed their class when they faced surprise package Lismore for a place in the final. Two tries apiece by Ross Aitken and Sean Kennedy helped County into a 33-0 lead after a first half that was halted for several minutes when Lismore's Ryan Flaherty suffered a suspected broken leg, and they played conservatively throughout the second half to progress comfortably to the showdown for the silverware.
Earlier in the evening, Hawks had issued a statement of intent when they romped past Preston Lodge, having already emerged as winners against a useful looking Stewarts Melville side that went on to beat Bruce Hay Chiefs in the final of the Plate competition.
Meanwhile, County eased their way into the tournament with a 38-7 win over a Presidents Seven called in as late replacements for Watsonians and followed that up with a 24-17 success over the Bruce Hay Squaws, who took the place of Cartha Queens Park in the draw.
