Duncan will stay on in Ireland after Glasgow's game against Leinster as he joins the stars of the Magners League at the annual awards dinner.
But the ex-Cambuslang and Glasgow Hawks man says he was surprised to see his fine solo try against the Scarlets earn Magners League billing, having been overlooked even for a nomination for his club award. He told the Scotsman: "We had our awards dinner last Tuesday and there were some belting tries. It went to Freddie (Arambaru] for his try against Toulouse in the Heineken Cup, which was a cracking all-round team try.
"It (Magners nomination] actually came as a wee bit of a surprise but it's been good and I've been having fun trying to get some votes."
Duncan has impressed in his first season as a pro and, with Ruaridh Jackson likely to be missing for two-thirds of next season due to international commitments, he has a big opportunity to progress further.
"As a first-year pro you can't expect everything to fall into place," he said, "but I've enjoyed the time I've had on the pitch and hope next year I can build on that game-time and improve even more.
"Like everyone here, you're going to target that period and set goals for yourself to go at it with a good crack, have a good number of games and prove yourself so that, when the internationals come back, you can hopefully keep them out."
The 19-year-old looks likely to have his experienced club rival Scott Wight of Melrose as a team-mate next season, which pleases him.
"I knew him from the club scene last year and he's a really good guy. I have family friends that know his parents as well and he has an amazing rugby brain and, if we do manage to sign him, it will be a good signing for the club."
