The Minerva Builders head for the birthplace of international rugby this weekend when they play Raeburn Place
Minerva Builders are an elite invitational rugby side who hail from all over Scotland. Only the mightiest players are invited to come and test their nerve in the ranks of the Minerva men, true giants on the field.
Builders Press release
What are Minerva all about? They're all about rocking up to tournaments wearing ankle socks and a hangover. They're all about scoring five tries and being subbed off, they're about bringing pounds sterling and democracy to the rural communities of Scotland.
The famous Roman Stoic 'Seneca' once wrote, 'A wise man never asks what another man serves...for only his actions will speak the true answer'...the Builders serve one age old master: Glamour. We are to semi-serious rugby tournaments what the Italian National football team are to diving, fake tanning and hair gel. We are, The Builders." (Kinsey VIII, 2011)
PJ 's call to arms
The honour of wearing a Minerva Builders shirt cannot be underestimated. I have yet to have that honour. We are an elite group of men who are brought together through the love of one game. The weekend is slowly getting near. Either we run the day or the day runs us.
The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be afraid you will make one.
A good rugby player plays where the balls is. A great rugby player plays where the ball is going to be.
