Dalziel prop joins Hawks

Dalziel Rugby Club prop joins Glasgow Hawks
Jun 22 2011 by Andrew Weston, Wishaw Press

DALZIEL Rugby Club have suffered a blow this month following the news that star forward Steven Findlay has left to join Premier One cracks Glasgow Hawks.
The loose-head prop was voted Premier Three Player of the Season last year following a string of impressive performances.
Whilst admitting to being disappointed with the news, Dalziel head coach Davie Wilson feels Findlay deserves a chance to play at a higher level.
The former Hawks title-winning coach said: “I am sorry to lose him but Stevie has got ambitions to try to play at the highest level. He has been rewarded for the effort and hard work he’s put in.

“He’s bought into what I have been trying to do at Dalziel and has realised hard work and commitment can take you a long way.
“His attitude is first class and if I had 15 players with his attitude and commitment I would be delighted.”
Wilson added: “I think Stevie will find it tough at Hawks but he has never shirked a challenge. Around the field he will be fine but his core skills as a loose-head prop will have to improve.”
