Its a funny old game! Its not often that a team are criticised for running in 9 tries with no response, however.....
The young Hawks were great in flashes both in attack and defence but on the whole this display was far below the very high standards that the boys have set for themselves this year.
As the regular reader of these reports will be aware this writer has had nothing but praise for the squad to date however a degree of complacency and indiscipline was certainly there today for all to see. Chat back to the ref, poor decision making at penalties and a loss of shape up front all lead to a scrappy display which against tougher opposition will not go unpunished. A couple of highlights were prop Iain Parrys magnificant try(he actually had to run a fair distance before touching down under the posts) and Rory Taylors speedy and inciteful break that led to his try.
The boys will need to step up a gear next Sunday for the Glasgow District Championships if they are to repeat last years magnificent record of not only remaining undefeated in the S1 tournament but not conceding a try throughout.
