Could Arthur's Cap now come home?

Glasgow Accies have lent J W Arthur's Cap from the first international rugby match to the RFU for a year

This stays true to history as when Arthur won that historic cap in 1871 Glasgow Accies along with West and Edinburgh Accies were members of the RFU
The SRU were formed two years in 1873 at a meeting held in the Glasgow Academy

International rugby was born 140 years ago on a bright, sunny day in Edinburgh. Now, for the first time since 1871 and thanks to Glasgow Academicals FC and Simon Inglis of Played in Britain, two of the caps presented to players in this game will be reunited at the World Rugby Museum in Twickenham. The museum’s collection, which already contained Arthur Guillemard’s England cap, will now be complemented by the arrival of J W Arthur’s Scotland cap. Arthur played for Glasgow Academicals for seven seasons, and represented his country twice. Accies continue to provide players for the Scotland team, the most recent being Johnnie Beattie.

Arthur’s Scotland cap will be on loan to the museum from Glasgow Academicals for one year.
The two caps will be displayed side by side from Saturday 12th March.

From SRU AGM
Finally George Russell of Moray House Rugby Club has campaigned tirelessly in favour of a museum of Scottish Rugby at Murrayfield and requested £250,000 to help do it. In a dig at Hegarty, who spoke against the motion before it had even been presented, one supporter forcefully argued: "Not even an accountant can argue that our heritage never happened." He pointed out that the display of artefacts in the President's Suite had only been installed last week, specifically for the benefit of the delegates.
