Wailers made it to the final of the Newquay Surf Sevens losing narrowly to Samurai. The Samurai side included sevens internationals from New Zealand, Fiji and England.

Wailers topped the group comfortably with wins over koru kamikaze and olorun sharks. In the quarter final beat The Gilbert Pups and then The British Army in a tight semi final.
