BBC presenter John Beattie is hosting a ‘question time’ style debate looking at ‘The Future of Sport Refereeing’. The panel includes Craig Brown, Murdo MacLeod, Fraser Wishart, football referee Kenny Clark and rugby legend Andy Nicol.  Former referee Jim Fleming has agreed to attend and we also have representatives from Cricket Scotland, the Scottish Golf Union and The R&A in attendance to offer additional input to the conversation.  The debate will centre around how technical advancements have impacted on the role of the referee and rules of many sports – likely topics are goal line technology, ‘tv referee’, hawk eye and the third umpire.
