In anticipation of Hawks visit to the birthplace of the Titanic your scribe made contact with former Hawks star and Ireland under 21 Captain Mike Rainey
Mike who qualified as a doctor whilst playing with us now practices in Australia
He is keeping fit and even hopes to try out playing some Aussie Rules and he also supports a familiar emblem that of AFL  Hawthorn Hawks who play out of Tasmania a club with a badge easily recognisable
Mike was one of several talented young Irish players who joined Hawks over the years players such as Peter Dalton, Tim Thompson,and Glenn Telford
This continues with the likes of Rory Hamilton Paddy Robinson and Stephen Leckey
