Today, the draw has been made for the quarter finals of the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup.
The silverware in both age groups for the Cup currently resides in the capital with Stewart’s Melville College and Edinburgh Academy the current champions at under-18 and under-16 respectively.
However with the draw made today there are opportunities for schools from Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Dollar and others from the capital to seize the honours at Murrayfield on Saturday 26 November 2011.
In the under-18 quarter final, champions Stewart’s Melville College will attempt to defend their title against Loretto, in a local Edinburgh derby, while 2010/11 runners up, Edinburgh Academy will travel the long journey north to Aberdeen where they will take on Robert Gordon’s College.
Moreover Hutchesons’ Grammar have shown how they are progressing, from having won the under-15 competition in 2010, as they reach the under-18 quarter finals for the first time in a number of years.
In the under-16 Cup quarter finals only two fixtures are certain with Merchiston Castle School and George Heriot’s School taking on Dollar Academy and the High School of Dundee respectively.
