GLASGOW ACCIES NEWSLETTER
7th October 2011
Dear Supporter,
Last Saturday we hosted Irvine on a very wet day and all credit to Robert Cheape and his team for presenting a good playing surface in such adverse conditions. I am pleased to say that the winning spirit and hard work is paying off. It was a good and improving display by Accies and despite still being without our captain, Stu Smith, and a couple of others the “squad” responded well. That is what good teams are all about. The Irvine officials were disappointed with their team’s efforts but I feel that we didn’t let them expand their game and we took control from the start.
This week we are off to meet a stuffy East Kilbride tomorrow and with a slightly changed team once again, but we have strength in depth as is evidenced by the quality on the bench. After the mornings dose of World Cup rugby why not come out and see some real quality and drama!
The seconds unfortunately came second in a bruising encounter with Whitecraigs last week and tomorrow they face Marr at home. So if you don’t want to travel to East Kilbride please come out to NA and support the boys. 3 pm kick off.
Finally, last Sunday some of the boys met Accie legend Stuart Hardie at Milngavie Station to help him on his way for his next marathon in what will be 40 in 40 days. PLEASE PLEASE support Stuart in this heroic venture and the Wooden Spoon Society is his charity. He deserves it and he is a real inspiration to us all. www.jogtole.co.uk
