Aberdeen GSFP 22 Hawks 7

Scotland on Sunday reports

An EFFICIENT Aberdeen side boosted their chances of a high placing in Premier One as they dispatched Glasgow Hawks, writes Jack Nixon.
A double from winger Erland Oag reflected the difference between the sides. The 21-year-old Shetlander picked up his second brace in a week in a fine display of attacking and, when required, defending.

Aberdeen were also superbly served by a rampant pack who controlled the game, never allowing Hawks to settle.

But for some poor placed kicking from home stand-off Rob Aloe, the game would have been over by half time. As it was, the Rubislaw side led 12-0 at the break on the back of Oag's fine efforts, one of which was converted by Aloe. Hawks were given a glimmer of hope in 42 minutes when Rory McKay turned it over for Mike Martin to make it 12-7 only for scrum half Morgan Ward to nip under the posts for a converted touch down almost immediately.

Aberdeen pushed further ahead when Aloe finally found his touch to kick a neat drop goal.
