It was disappointing to come home without a win last Saturday but the good news is that we have another chance this week in the Shield knockout at New Anniesland. It should be a different style of game with both sides looking to play good attractive rugby and hopefully this may be the start of a good cup run.
The seconds lost away to a strong Cartha whose 1st XV are a league above us. The 2nds are sitting 4th in the table so a win tomorrow will certainly help our position. This week both sides are playing Alan Glens at home so it should be busy at NA . The seconds will have a fairly strong team with Chris Connor back from injury, “Gadget” leading the pack and some useful experience and youth to follow in the backs.
We have a reasonably stable 1st team this week with Jack Walker coming back from injury in the pack, the props changing over and Stewart Seaton moving into centre and Stu Smith inside at 12, with Mike Hermes in at wing.
I make no excuse to plug Stuart Hardie who is now on his last couple of marathons to complete his 40. He is indeed a remarkable (read mad) man. If you would like to follow his last few miles click onto www.jogtole.co.uk
