GLASGOW ACCIES NEWSLETTER
11h November 2011
Dear Supporter,
Our trip down to Castle Douglas was successful last week (22-8) with a good second half performance to ensure a victory over Stewartry. This has placed us back on winning ways and instilled confidence in the squad that we can win games and score good tries.
We have GHK on Dec 10th at Old Anniesland in the semi final of Regional Shield Trophy.
This week we are at home to Newton Stewart for the 9th game in the league season marking the half way point. We are lying 4th and in good shape to remain in the top quarter if we continue to play winning rugby. We have a reasonably stable team this week with Robert Beattie, and Andy Jackson out with injuries. Stephen Fyfe steps in at fullback Ben Semple moves to scrum half and Stephen O’Donnell steps out to No.12. In the pack at No.8 newly-wed veteran Graeme Simpson replaces the injured Jack Walker and sibling Michael is in at No.7. Hooker Connor Diffin returns after injury to complete the front row.
Last week the seconds had a famous victory against a stuffy GHK (20-9) to take them to second place. There is no complacency as Marr and ourselves have played all our games but Cartha and Kilmarnock below us have 3 games in hand. This week they are at home also and play Garnock. (KO 2pm)
Stuart Hardie’s story was covered by Channel TV last week. Please click onto this article which will be available to watch until the weekend, but most importantly check out Stuart’s blazer at the reception, demonstrating just how proud he is to be an Accie.
