Our visit to Coatbridge last week saw a transformation in attitude and performance with 5 tries for our efforts and hopefully a sign of things to come.  Indeed, we have a real test tomorrow for our return league fixture against GHK at Old Anniesland (3pm KO).  The players are very keen to seek revenge for the first encounter. This game will have extra spice in that we are also contesting for the Dave Gilmour Cup.
 
We have a very stable team compared with more recent line ups; Stephen O’Donnell is back at stand off and Cammy McCall moves out to the inside centre berth. In the pack the front five are unchanged and Andy Jackson is on wedding duty thus allowing Chris Wright to move to flanker and paired with Jack Walker, for his brother, and Kenneth Beattie fills the No. 8 spot.
 
The seconds have a game away to Hill-Jills (KO 2pm) after a heavy defeat last week with a depleted side.  Hopefully this week they will have a much stronger side and continue with their winning ways.  
 
There is a short meal (6.30pm finish) and presentation of the Cup after the game and we have an Accies table and there are literally a few places left so please let me know if you would like to join us.  Your support would be greatly appreciated. We have GHK shortly after on Dec 10th at Old Anniesland in the semi final of Regional Shield Trophy.
 
Last Saturday the players organised a successful quiz night and your Chairman just happened to sit at the correct table and we provided a good blend of age and youth to edge the competition, but stuffing marshmallows and water biscuits into your mouth added an interesting angle to the normal pub quiz line up.  Many thanks to Beaver, Stu and Elliott and I think they have a few more events in the pipeline.
