We had an astonishing attendance of 111 at the GROGS meeting yesterday and my thanks go to the catering staff for coping with such a large turnout.
The next meeting takes place on Wednesday 14th December when the Rev. Howard Haslett is the speaker and Roy Dingwall is in the chair. The timing is 11-45 for 12-30 and you are asked to go, on arrival, into the function room on the right where the bar will be in operation. At 12-30 you will be called through to the dining room. This is to allow the catering staff to finalise their preparations without too many people getting in the way.
The cost of lunch is £20. This includes lunch, staff gratuity, £5 for the raffle and a contribution towards the cost of wine.
Each attendee is asked to bring a prize for the raffle. It can be anything, drink, chocolates, biscuits, calendars, butcher meat, etc., whatever you like. Two years ago we had a pair of pheasants shot the previous day (complete with feathers). This is our main charity fund raiser of the year.
It is imperative that you book a place as I cannot guarantee lunch if not. We are expecting a large turnout for this highly entertaining speaker.
I look forward to hearing from you soon
Alasdair Graham
Chairman
GROGS
