On a beautiful sunny evening at Old Anniesland, a good crowd turned out to support six teams playing for the David Williams Trophy. After the group stage, Accies played Hamilton in the 5th/6th play-off, Ayr played Whitecraigs for 3rd/4th place. Which means the final was an in-house derby match between GHK and Hawks. There was no evidence of the 5 league divisions that separated these teams last season. GHK were strong in defence against the bigger Hawks side but were edged out by two tries to one. Hawks Captain Rory McKay was presented with the trophy by Phyllis Williams.
