P5 v Glasgow Accies As a warm up to the Hawks match against Stewart Melville,our P5'S played a match against Accies.Both teams had enough players to play two matches at the same time.In the end honours were even.GHK won one game and Accies won the other.The players certainly enjoyed the chance to play on the main pitch in front of an appreciative crowd.I am sure the spectators enjoyed watching. We would like to thank Accies for bringing their team across and also thank Hawks for giving the boys the chance to play. With the players on show from both teams,the prospects for a Hawks S1 team in a couple of years look good GHK MIN TOURNAMENT The GHK was played on Sunday,and despite the best efforts of the weather,everything went well and all matches were played in the right spirit.Our thanks go to the visiting teams,Cartha QP,West of Scotland,Whitecraigs,Hillhead/Jordanhill and GHA for coming along and making it the day it was. GHK had 3 teams in finals.TheP3's reached their final ,but lost out 8-4 to Hillhead/Jordanhill.Well done to the boys for getting to the final on their debut in the Tournament. The P5's also reached their final,they beat GHA 6-1, and played well in all their games.This was their second trophy of the season,and reversed last weeks result in the final at Hillhead/Jordanhill against GHA again.Well done to them. TheP7's won their final 2-0 against GHA,to win their second Tournament in 2 weeks.Congratulations to the boys who took part. We would like to thank all the referees who took part,and hope they enjoyed the afternoon.If so we will hopefully see you next year The Tournament would not have been the success it was ,if it was not for the volunteers involved in the organisation of it.Thanks go to Ronnie Gourlay,Russell and Jane Sim,Liz Walsh and Viv Hastie to name but a few.Thanks go to everyone who gave up their time. We must also thank the SRU for allowing the Calcutta Cup to be on show.It was a thrill for the boys to see it and be photographed with it.Also thanks to Glasgow Warriors for sending their players along to present the prizes. Kenny Hamilton,Chairman of Glasgow Hawks gave up his time to help us out on the PA and also bring along the BT Premiership Trophy.This is appreciated by the Mini Rugby Section. It was good to see the GHK Rugby Club represented by Stewart McAuley and Eric Hugh,President and Vice President respectively.Thank you for your support,and I hope you enjoyed the rugby on show.
